Smelted

Wallet Management

Smelted uses an embedded wallet powered by Privy, so you can manage funds, deploy to mining rounds, and claim rewards without installing a browser extension or managing seed phrases in the app.

Embedded Wallet

When you create a Smelted account, a Solana wallet is automatically generated and linked to your account. This is a custodial embedded wallet managed by Privy — the private key is secured by Privy's infrastructure and is not exposed to the Smelted application or your browser.

Key characteristics of the embedded wallet:

  • No extension required — Works entirely within the Smelted web app. No Phantom, Solflare, or other wallet extension needed.
  • Automatic transaction signing — When you deploy manually or use the AutoMiner, transactions are signed via Privy session signers without you needing to approve each one in a popup.
  • Standard Solana address — Your embedded wallet has a regular Solana public key. You can send SOL to it from any wallet or exchange, and view it on any Solana explorer.
Custodial Nature
Your embedded wallet is custodial — Privy holds the private key on your behalf. While this makes the experience seamless, it means you are trusting Privy with custody of funds in this wallet. Only deposit amounts you are comfortable using for mining.

Depositing SOL

To start mining, you need SOL in your embedded wallet. SOL is used both for mining deployments and for Solana transaction fees.

Open the Deposit Dialog

Click the Deposit button in the wallet section of the sidebar or deploy panel. This opens a dialog showing your embedded wallet address.

Copy Your Wallet Address

Copy the displayed Solana address. This is your embedded wallet's public key — a standard Solana address that can receive SOL from any source.

Send SOL

From your external wallet (Phantom, Solflare, etc.) or a centralized exchange, send SOL to the copied address. The transfer typically confirms within a few seconds on Solana.

Confirm Balance

Your balance updates automatically once the transfer confirms on-chain. You are now ready to deploy.

Tip
Keep a small SOL reserve (at least 0.01 SOL) for transaction fees. Each mining deployment costs a small fee for the Solana transaction, separate from the SOL you deploy to tiles.

Withdrawing Funds

You can withdraw SOL from your embedded wallet at any time:

  1. Click Withdraw in the wallet section.
  2. Enter the destination Solana address (your external wallet or exchange deposit address).
  3. Enter the amount of SOL to withdraw.
  4. Confirm the withdrawal. The transaction is signed and submitted immediately.

Withdrawals are standard SOL transfers on the Solana blockchain and confirm within seconds. There is no withdrawal fee from Smelted beyond the standard Solana transaction fee (approximately 0.000005 SOL).

Claiming Rewards

Mining rewards accumulate in your on-chain miner account, separate from your wallet balance. To move rewards into your wallet, you need to claim them:

  • Claim SOL — Transfers pending SOL rewards from your miner account to your wallet.
  • Claim Token — Transfers pending token rewards (ORE, GODL, or ORB) to your wallet's associated token account.
  • Claim All — Claims both SOL and token rewards in a single action.

Pending rewards are displayed in the deploy panel and on your profile page. You can claim at any time — there is no deadline or expiration on unclaimed rewards.

Viewing Transactions

All transactions — deposits, withdrawals, deployments, and claims — are recorded on the Solana blockchain. You can view them in several ways:

  • Deployment history — The Analytics page shows a filterable log of all your mining deployments with tiles, amounts, results, and rewards.
  • Solscan — Visit solscan.io and search for your wallet address to see all on-chain transactions including transfers, deployments, and claims.
  • Reward claims — The platform keeps an audit log of all reward claim transactions with their Solana transaction signatures.
